September 2013 Favorites

Decided to sort of list down my favorite things of each month, including clothing, beauty, and some random stuffs. And it is a little like my "Current Obsession" thing-y, but the difference is that I actually own these favorites and have been loving them, not like what's on my "Current Obsession", which I just drool over my computer screen and staring at the prices of each items which is absolutely expensive!

So to start the "Monthly Favorites"..

  1. LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub; (Already wrote about this baby in the LUSH Haul post.)
  2. Maybelline Color Bloom in Pink Blossom; (Sort of a lip balm, which obviously moisturizes your lips, but there's pigment in it so it's a lip tint too. There were two shades, the first one was the pink one that I got which is called Pink Blossom, and the other being a reddish peachy shade but I forgot what's it called. And it last for a really long time, I've had mine since about a few months ago and I haven't used it all. You just swipe once or twice on your lips, and it'll leave your lips natural pink for the whole day! Seriously just one swipe will do the trick, you can put a lot more if you want that really really really really pink stain on your lips.)
  3. Topshop BB Cream; (I got mine in Singapore, since they don't have the Topshop make-up line here in Jakarta, works and blends really well!)
  4. Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Nutri-Oil Serum; (Been wanting to get my hands on those Moroccan Oils, but can't seem to find them anywhere, then I tried this, basically works like how Moroccan Oils are supposed to do. It says to restore smoothness, softness, and shine. Plus it makes my hair far far far less frizzy! AND it is also not that expensive, and you can get them basically anywhere cause they're not that hard to find. Definitely gonna re-purchase it!)
  5. The 100 by Kass Morgan; (Bought it four days ago, and finished it the exact same day I bought it. It wasn't my intention to buy a book, but I was wondering around and then I read the summary on the back of the book, and then I instantly fell in love with the whole plot. Set after the fictional nuclear war that destroyed the Earth, but some people managed to get on a really big ship to outer space and live there. Much like Wall-E, if I do say so myself. Then there's like a hundred people, who got sent to Earth to sort of check if it's safe yet to come home. Told by four characters, who are connected with one another. And I'm a sucker for its hopeless romantic storyline. Lended mine to Indi today!)
  6. Koi Coloring Brush Pens; (AAAAA you can see how obsessed I am with these. I actually spent a lot of my money to buy them, since I just can't get enough of them basically.)

Left to right: Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Nutri-Oil Serum, Topshop BB Cream, LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub, Maybelline Color Bloom. (Minus the Koi Coloring Brush Pens and The 100, which is with Indi at the moment.)

When You're Sad:

  1. Write letters to the people you love. Don’t seal them; don’t send them. Instead, stick them between the pages of library books.
  2. Eat raspberries off your fingertips.
  3. Venture outside and observe natural life. Watch a honey bee suck the nectar from lavender plants. Watch a snail slowly make its way towards the shade of a tree. Watch a hummingbird innocently fly above your head. Realize how insignificant you are.
  4. Smile at strangers; say hello. It will improve their day and your own.
  5. Write lists. They can be about anything.
  6. Read several pages of the dictionary. Learn new words. Write down the ones you wish to remember.
  7. Never feel compelled to apologize when you don’t feel sorry. It’s okay that you’re honest. It’s okay that you have a different opinion from someone else.
  8. Read books and watch movies from your childhood. A healthy dose of nostalgia is okay. Immerse yourself in your past innocence.
  9. Walk to a park and get on a swing. Go as high as you can; feel limitless. The world is yours.
  10. Eat if you’re hungry. Food is not the enemy. You are a human and need food to survive. You deserve to eat. Put those raspberries on your fingers and sprinkle sugar on your tongue. Taste the summer breeze and sweet aroma of jasmine flowers.
  11. Don’t marinate in your sadness. You are not a steak. You are a person; you’re irreplaceable. Open yourself up to contentment. Bathe in the rivers of Glee. Go for hikes with Satisfaction. Sleep in a warm cocoon of blankets with Bliss. Let endless happiness overcome your hopeless sadness. You deserve to be happy. If life is a game and you are the referee, be biased for once and let happiness win.

Massive LUSH Haul

Posted this about two months ago on Felice, then I figured might as well post it here too. (P.S. I'm currently waiting for my other LUSH products, since my Aunt is currently in UK, though I'm not really sure what she'll get me, I only said I wanted some things from LUSH, keeping my fingers crossed!)

Since there isn't any LUSH shops here in Jakarta (Though they used to have one in Plaza Senayan if I'm not mistaken), I went to a LUSH shop in Wisma Atria when I went to Singapore last July. I've been reading lots and watching lots of videos and stuff of bloggers or beauty gurus blab about their favorite LUSH products, and honestly I'm one of those kind of people who's really curious about a certain rave that's going on, especially the Snow Fairy Limited Edition Shower Gel, which sadly I didn't get my hands on.

The things that were on top of my shopping list for LUSH:
  1. No Drought Dry Shampoo; (You can see I've been wanting one since last year, which I featured on my April 2012 "Current Obsession.)
  2. Snow Fairy Limited Edition Shower Gell;
  3. Bath Bombs. (No specific ones, was planning to sniff every single one and decide there.)

The things I ended up buying, in total with my mom and sister's stuffs:
  1. No Drought Dry Shampoo; (HA. Finally. Smells fresh, and really easy to use. Perfect for one of those wash-or-not-wash kind of days. Put it on your hair, massage a little, then I usually finish by brushing to get the excess powder off.)
  2. Honey I Washed The Kids Soap; (They told me it was one of the best sellers there. The smell is so yummy and really really honey-ish if that even make sense. Very moisturizing and leaves your skin really soft. Plus the scent lingers all day long on your skin, AND bathroom. Update: Mine is now the size of my thumb!)
  3. Easter Egg Hunt Soap; (The kind of soap that smells like food and you literally just want to bite it. Not quite a big fan of this, though I got to say it's perfect for one of those rainy cold days when you just want a really nice cozy shower.)
  4. Whoosh Shower Jelly; (Was quite fun to use since it's basically like taking a glob of Jell-O to shower. Perfect when you just need a little wake-me-up in the morning.)
  5. Sea Spray; (Says to freshen up your hair or something. Basically holds your hair after you are done blow drying or styling it.)
  6. Dirty Body Spray; (Smells really fresh and minty.)
  7. Imogen Rose Solid Perfume; (Absolutely love this thing, since I love roses. But there wasn't really much of a perfume itself on the bottle thing-a-ma-jig.)
  8. Emotional Brilliance Lipstick in Glamorous. (Can be used for the lips, cheeks, and eyes. The color was absolutely stunning but at the same time is really subtle. Works really well for the lips, I usually just dab once on the upper and lower lip and smear it with my finger. All set.)

Then for my birthday this year, Indi got me:
  1. Think Pink Bath Bomb; (Contains tonka, vanilla, lavender, and loads of more ingredients from heaven that made this bath bomb smells really girly. Plus, it'll make your whole tub pink!)
  2. Space Girl Bath Bomb; (Can't quite explain how this bath bomb smells like, but it is the mix of bergamot oil, almond oil, and last but not least grapefruit oil. Perfect for when you just need to get out of this planet.)
  3. Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb; (Specially made for one of those cold and rainy days, when you just want to soak up in a really warm cinnamon scent.)
  4. Popcorn Lip Scrub; (Exfoliates really well and will leave your lips really smooth and naturally pink. And the best part is, it tastes like salted caramel!)

Not the Kitsch Australiana Garden

The Australian based brand, Dress Up's designer, Stephanie Downey, got the inspiration of the recent SS13/14 from the natural world. Specifically floral prints, that's native in Australia, and the plants and flowers that is familiar through her eyes as a child. Banksia, Protea, Waratah, and Wattle. Here are some of my ultimate favorites from their recent collection.
